Boys' Brigade

Drumachose Girls’ Brigade was founded in 1974 and is still going strong some 35 years later, now under the Captaincy of Mrs Sandra Laird.
Our motto remains ‘Seek, Serve & Follow Christ’.
Our aim is ‘To help girls become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and through self control, reverence and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment of life’.
We meet every Wednesday night from September to March and share fun, friendship and faith with each other. Explorers meet from 6.15 to 7.30 pm & the Juniors, Seniors & Brigaders meet from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm.
The girls follow a varied programme under the headings of:
Spiritual, Physical, Educational & Service
The girls work in different sections depending on their ages –
3-7 yrs – Explorers
8-10 yrs – Juniors
11- 13yrs – Seniors
14-16+ - Brigaders
Currently we have 65 members and 11 Officers. Our Company Structure is as follows :
Captain : Sandra Laird Explorer Section : Janice Kerr, Joanne McGregor, Julie McGillivray, Gillian Scott & Sarah Trainor (currently on a year out) Junior Section : Sylvia Nicholl, Christine Wilson & Jill Cupples (Helper)
Senior Section : Wendy Olphert & Gillian King Brigader Section : Laura Devenney & Pamela Scott We have several annual events such as Sponsor Walk, Enrolment Service, Halloween Apple Pie Night, & Outings for each section. We also take part in District events & competitions such as Explorer Carol Service, Annual District Parade, Junior Marching & team games, Senior/Brigader 5-a-side football & netball and new for the explorers this year is an activity morning on Saturday 24th November ’07 in 2nd Limavady Church Hall @ 10.30 am to 12 noon.

Livewire runs every 2nd and 4th Saturday’s of every month for kids aged 8 plus at 7pm till 9pm. To join come along on one of these nights with 50pence (entrance fee) and some money for tuck shop.
